HIGHSTREET’S OFFICIAL GUIDE TO THE CITY OF LIGHTS COMES ALIVE WITH THE PARIS POP-UP.
Highstreet indirectly hit the streets of Paris late September when one of our favourite strategic partners—Taya Hawes-Puiu our ad agency lead at Partners & Hawes—approached us with an idea that could only be called magnifique!
“How would Highstreet like to host a Parisian-themed pop-up store based on goods brought back from a girls’ trip to Paris?”
Well, needless to say, she had us at “Paris.” So off she went, accompanied by friends and lifestyle bloggers Pam Ratzlaff and Laurel Edwards of the Sugar Plum Sisters as well as Tanya Goehring of Post Photography – who captures the images for all of our blog features. Together, we followed their travels from afar as Taya posted daily updates on her Instagram feed, and, aside from bringing back a host of treasures for our Paris Pop-Up, she also brought back an official guide to how to eat, shop and visit—just as the Parisians do.
This amazing hidden Mexican restaurant and bar is behind a tiny tacoria. Owned by a New Yorker, it has a great, low-key vibe—not to mention amazing tacos. Tip: If you’re feeling adventurous try the mole (chocolate) taco.
52 Rue de Saintonge, candelariaparis.com
A six-course tasting menu bursting with flavour! The menu is creative but not too avant-garde while the service is refined, yet relaxed.
52 Rue de Richelieu, verjusparis.com
What this little coffee shop lacks in size (hence the name), it makes up for in fresh pastries and strong coffee—the perfect way to start your day filled with shopping and sightseeing.
19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, lebootcafe.fr
In this magical old-world space dating back to the 1800s the girls’ learned some old-school skincare tips and purchased a divine treat for the pop-up—naturally flavoured apple toothpaste.
6 Rue Bonaparte, +33 1 4329 0250
This shop prides itself on its always-changing nature and the girls’ visit proved to be unforgettable with a striking tie-dyed t-shirt installation hanging at the store’s entrance.
111 Boulevard Beaumarchais, merci-merci.com
This children’s concept shop is by the creators of Merci and where our pop-up’s oversized and beautifully illustrated French children’s books are from.
5 Boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, bonton.fr
This legendary gourmet shop is a must-visit. Taya and her team picked up a couple tasty treats including sweet pink edible roses that Pam suggested Highstreet drop into each welcoming champagne cocktail of the Paris Pop-Up Preview Party on Thursday, October 23rd at Highstreet. Tip: Vancouver’s Beaucoup Bakery hosts The Paris Tours, where you’ll visit (and eat) your way through the best bakeries in Paris.

Jardins des Tuileries
For the best in beautiful people watching head to the Jardins des Tuileries located between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. At one end you’ll find the famous Louvre museum and its modern glass pyramid, which lines up perfectly with L’Arc de Triomphe.
Spend a day away from the hectic pace of Paris’s bustling streets by taking a train to the Champagne region just a few hours away, where you can visit small generational champagne houses like the famous Moët & Chandon.
Want to learn more of their trip? Head over to The Paris Pop-Up at Highstreet, where you can experience the best of Paris too.
The Paris Pop-Up will be hosted Thursday, October 23rd 6-9PM, Friday October 24th 5-9PM, and Saturday 10-5PM. Tickets can be purchased for the special preview event here.
See you there! À la prochaine!
