Being Bella Bucchiotti

As temperatures reached below zero, 19-year old Bella Bucchiotti still maintained her signature smile as she posed in front of the colourful murals in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood this January. The Mission-based lifestyle blogger started xoxoBella just two short years ago, covering some of her favourite things, fashion, food and travel. “When I started blogging and posting on Instagram, I just did it for fun,” Bella reflects, “I didn’t think it would lead to so many opportunities and I’m grateful for every one of them.” Companies like Timberland, Ugg and Otterbox, collaborate with influencers like Bella, often giving them creative control in how they incorporate the brands into their everyday lives, keeping the story authentic and relevant to their loyal followings.

Creating content five days a week on xoxoBella is no small task for this full-time blogger. When she’s not in front of the camera, Bella is busy planning editorial, writing posts, managing social media, partnering with photographers and fielding brand collaborations. It’s the hard work and long hours that most people don’t see. “You have to have a real passion,” Bella shares, “and I drink a lot of coffee!”

Shortly after the shoot, Bella was off on a four-day road trip with photographer Braeden Toth. The two adventure seekers started in Vegas, and drove through four states where they explored and photographed the Valley of Fire in Nevada, Zion National Park in Utah, Antelope Canyon in Arizona and Death Valley in California. Always thinking of ways to elevate her content, Bella gave followers a sneak peek on Instagram of the breathtaking photos to come.

With the new year, Bella has set a few goals for herself. “I want to focus on being a better person,” Bella tells us, “being happy with what I have more than what needs to come my way.” As for her blog Bella shares, “I want to do more travelling, see the world and create awesome content.”

To stay on track, Bella is always jotting down notes in her trusty planner and reflecting on her next steps, which includes sitting on Highstreet’s Student Voice Council with other young adults from the Fraser Valley community. “We’ll be talking to people and asking them what they want from Highstreet,” Bella shares, “I’m excited to be part of it and see what’s to come.”

Follow Bella at xoxoBella.com and on Instagram and follow Highstreet to see what the youth council is up to throughout the year.
